What is it?

Experiencing occasional anxiety is common as it’s part of the body’s ability to deal with stress.  However, those with anxiety disorders experience intense and prolonged periods of tension and worried thought patterns, which can impact their daily lives. 

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health condition, affecting nearly 30% of adults at some point in their lives.

Symptoms of Anxiety

  • Persistent feelings of worry, nervousness, tension, or restlessness
  • Increased heart rate or heart palpitations
  • Shortness of breath

  • Difficult concentrating or hyperfixation 
  • Sweating or trembling 
  • Gastrointestinal upset 
  • Feelings of fear, panic, paranoia, danger, or doom
