Darren Stolow

Senior Psychologist

Darren is a Senior Psychologist at Numinus and is licensed by the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. Darren prioritizes a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment, helping to guide his clients on their unique journey to personal growth using a collaborative, exploratory, and goal-directed approach.  By focusing as much on the development of personal strengths as on the alleviation of distress, he assists his clients to access their own inner capacity to grow and heal. Darren tailors his treatment approach, respecting the wisdom, cultural background and lived experience of each client. He specializes in depression and anxiety, as well as relationship challenges and life/work stress/burnout. Darren draws upon the strengths of evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanism and Mindful Self-Compassion with the goal of helping clients to find well-being and wholeness in their lives. His approach emphasizes the acquisition of skills that can be used outside therapy to maintain treatment gains and reduce vulnerability in the long term. Darren also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting & Drawing), valuing creativity and the process of crafting meaning in his clinical practice.

Something sacred occurs when an individual feels safe enough to share their inner world with someone they trust, particularly when they are vulnerable. I consider it a heroic act to face one’s full self in the presence of another. My role and privilege is to earn and preserve your trust, and to accept and meet you exactly how and where you are.
