Virtual — Utah
Brittany Sherman, CMHC is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. She offers virtual therapy sessions throughout Utah, bringing a warm, affirming, and sometimes humorous presence to every session. Brittany believes deeply that healing doesn't have to be heavy every step of the way, and she creates space for clients to feel genuinely safe, seen, and supported.
Brittany earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University in Idaho, and went on to complete her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, with emphasis in Child & Family as well as Addictions, from Frostburg State University in Maryland. She is licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah and as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts.
Her clinical experience spans a wide range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD/PTSI, grief and loss, ADHD, addiction, panic disorders, relationship & family issues, women's issues, identity issues, infertility, and stress management. She is a proud LGBTQIA+ affirming provider and is committed to creating inclusive, judgment-free care for clients of all backgrounds and identities. Brittany is specially trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Brittany's philosophy is rooted in the belief that struggle is part of the human experience, but that no one should have to face it alone. Whether the challenges are deeply personal or tied to larger social circumstances, she offers a space where clients can process, build coping skills, and feel empowered to move forward. She understands firsthand what it means to struggle, which is part of what drew her to this work in the first place.
When she's not with clients, Brittany channels her creativity in all directions through co-hosting a comedy podcast with her husband as well as writing and performing her own music. She brings that same creative, lighthearted energy into her sessions.
Life can be complex and unpredictable, and I believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive place to make sense of it. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where patients can feel genuinely heard and understood. My goal is to walk alongside my patients to explore life’s challenges and uncover new possibilities for healing and growth together.
I believe it’s never too late to create the life you want. Change is not only possible, but is a vital part of being human. Growth often happens in moments that feel uncomfortable or uncertain, and therapy offers a unique space to explore those moments with curiosity and courage.
I’m certified in EMDR and trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. My approach is holistic and somatic, focused on integrating mind, body, and environment. I’m also keen on interventional, biological treatments in mental health and how these approaches complement traditional therapy.
Before joining Stella Mental Health, I worked in a behavioral health center supporting individuals and families through a wide range of emotional and relational challenges. My professional background also includes experience in corrections, education, and women’s wellness.
Outside of work, I find balance through biking, playing guitar, and spending time in the mountains—places that remind me to stay grounded and connected. Connection is at the heart of everything I do, and I aim to bring authenticity, openness, and even a little light-hearted fun into each session so patients can feel safe showing up exactly as they are.
Let’s get curious together about what’s feeling difficult, and discover what healing and growth may look like for you.
Hannah has experience in providing psychotherapy using modalities including EMDR, CBT, DBT, ACT, grief counseling, motivational interviewing, child-centered play therapy, and ego state work. Hannah has worked with a wide variety of ages and populations. She has experience working in schools, hospitals, residential treatment centers and private practice. She works with young clients through play therapy, individuals facing the aftermath of trauma, and grief, among many other diagnoses. Hannah received her Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho, and went on to complete a Master in Social Work from Utah Valley University. She gained her passion for social work from a young age when she was able to visit and participate in an equine therapy facility. Since graduating with her Master’s degree, Hannah approaches mental health in a holistic approach by putting the individual, not the diagnosis, at the center of treatment. Through addressing emotional, mental, and physical needs, Hannah believes that individuals find the healing that will shape their future in a positive way. Hannah enjoys spending her free time fishing and being outdoors with her husband and two dogs, traveling to the Oregon coast, and channeling her creative energy through cross stitch and embroidery.
