Adult Psychiatry

A psychiatrist can help by assessing your mental health symptoms and making treatment recommendations to support you.

What is Adult Psychiatry?

Adult psychiatry can help those over the age of 18 with the diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of mental health conditions. Psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants are medical professionals with a deep understanding of mental and physical health and their interconnected relationship. A treatment plan from one of these providers can help to improve wellbeing.

How Does It Work?

One of our highly qualified Psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants  will assess your individual needs, create a holistic care plan, and provide ongoing support to help you reach your goals.

The Process

Your practitioner will take a comprehensive approach to your care, collaborating with other health care providers to provide you with the best outcomes. Here is what you can expect:

Step 1: Evaluation

We’ll start with a thorough evaluation of your medical and mental health history, and an overview of your treatment goals.

Step 2: Creation of Plan

Your practitioner will determine your treatment plan - it may involve a mix of medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, resources, and additional support.

Step 3: Adjustments

Your practitioner will continue to support you,  closely monitoring any adverse reactions or side effects with medication. They will make adjustments to your treatment plan if something isn’t working to ensure optimal outcomes.
