SPRAVATO® Treatment Program
Our SPRAVATO® treatment is a structured program that involves 12 SPRAVATO® Sessions. In these sessions, you will be given SPRAVATO®—a branded form of ketamine—under medical supervision, but without a therapist to guide you through the ketamine experience. SPRAVATO® is administered in the ketamine room as an intervention for those experiencing treatment-resistant depression.
SPRAVATO® (esketamine) and ketamine are chemically related, and both have been shown to produce treatment results that are both rapid and effective. The main difference is that esketamine is a version of ketamine that can be administered intranasally (through the nose), while most other ketamine treatments must be administered through injections.
To increase the effectiveness of esketamine treatment, it is combined with an oral antidepressant. Unlike conventional antidepressants, you do not need to use SPRAVATO® every day.
How SPRAVATO® Works
SPRAVATO® treatment treats depression by utilizing a different mechanism than conventional antidepressants. SPRAVATO® targets the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor and is believed to work differently than currently available oral antidepressants.
