Areej is a Registered Clinical Counselor (RCC) working out of Vancouver BC, Coast Salish Territories. She is trained in Couple and Family Therapy through the University of Guelph, and holds additional training and experience in EMDR, group therapy, body-oriented/somatic approaches, and sex therapy.
Areej’s clinical approach integrates contemporary understandings of trauma, attachment patterns and strategies, systemic considerations in problem maintenance, and insight- and experience-oriented interventions. In other words, Areej meets the whole human as they are embedded in the context of their life, and invites the re-collection of their strengths and capacities to face present challenges. Areej holds a reverence for the expansiveness of the human experience and is interested in facilitating therapeutic conversations that make room for what is as yet unsaid and emerging in clients’ lives.
Areej welcomes work with LGBTQ2S+ individuals and folks in self-defined relationship agreements.
