Colin Riley, DNP PMHNP-BC

Colin Riley (he/him) earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice with an emphasis in Psychiatric-Mental Health in May of 2021. He was worked in mental health for the past 8 years. Colin started his career working with adolescents as a psychiatric technician at Primary Children's Wasatch Canyons Residential Treatment Center. After that he worked for 4 years at the University of Utah doing neuroimaging research on individuals with psychiatric illness and looking at possible connections between altitude and mental illness. Prior to graduating with his doctorate in nursing, Colin also worked as an inpatient psychiatric registered nurse. Colin is dedicated to learning as much as he can about evidenced-based care for mental illness and is devoted to reducing stigma associated with having mental illness. Colin is an LGBTQ ally and is committed to providing affirmative and supportive care to this population. Colin believes in a Health at Every Size approach to wellness. He also is excited about upcoming and novel treatments in psychiatry, especially psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. When he is not working, Colin enjoys spending time with his family, reading whatever he can, watching sports, and getting outside.
