Dr. Adina Coroiu (She/Her)

(pronounced ko-ro-you)

In Her Own Words

As a psychotherapist, I embrace values such as respect, autonomy, collaboration, and compassion. My priority is to guide clients to sustain healthy relationships, overcome difficulties, and attain personal goals.

My work with couple and relationship difficulties is informed by systemic approaches, whereby problems are understood as a function of couple dynamics and interactions. For sexual difficulties, such as arousal, orgasm, sexual pain, I take a solution-focused approach, which involves psychoeducation and teaching behavioural strategies, emotional regulation and cognitive restructuring skills sometimes in combination with outside referrals (e.g., urology, gynecology, physiotherapy). Other theoretical frameworks that I am comfortable using include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).
