Dr. Megan A. Wood
Associate Psychologist
Dr. Megan Wood (she/her) is a clinical psychologist licensed by the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ). She believes the human experience is an educational project where we must make room for the whole of our existence – the personal, social, physical, and spiritual. She emphasizes the importance of exploring one’s emotional experiences within her work. That is, examining the meaning and function of our emotions as well as facing what is typically avoided. Past, present, and future are considered within the therapeutic context.
Megan’s therapeutic approach is integrative, process-oriented, and experiential. That is to say that she combines several forms of therapy, focuses on the process of therapy itself such as the relationship between therapist and client, and underscores experiences of emotion occurring in session. She predominantly employs principles from Dynamic and Humanistic/Existential psychotherapies. Her work is informed by elements of Experiential Dynamic Therapy (EDT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
