Dr. Vickie Lamoureux, Ph.D.

Psychologist

Vickie is a licensed psychologist who graduated from the research and intervention program at the Université de Montréal. In addition to her internship at Mindspace, Vickie worked as an intern in psychology in 2018-2019 in Child Psychiatry at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute. Her thesis focused on internalizing disorders and their risk factors in development. The main objective of this project concerns the functioning of the neural circuitry of fear using functional magnetic resonance imaging with an Inuit population in Nunavik.

During her previous years of clinical training, Vickie worked with clients with anxiety or mood disorders, adjustment disorders, simple or complex post-traumatic stress disorder, attachment disorders, borderline personality and various externalizing disorders (e.g., ADHD, oppositional disorder, anger management). She studied the neuropsychology of internalizing disorders during development at the Sainte-Justine Hospital for 5 years, as well as REM sleep and dreams at Sacré-Coeur Hospital in Montreal for 3 years. She also worked as a counselor for 3 years with a homeless clientele with severe mental health and / or physical disorders. Vickie uses an integrative therapeutic approach, according to the level of intervention that meets the needs of clients. During her clinical training, she was trained in cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and mindfulness approaches. She also has expertise in play therapy with children and adolescents. Vickie is also an internationally certified yoga teacher, which she uses to enrich her therapeutic tools.
