Dr. Élise Chaperon, PhD (She/Her)

Psychologist
I completed a doctorate in psychology at the University of Quebec in Montreal (Ph.D./Psy.D.) and I work as a psychologist in private practice, member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec since 2019. As a clinician, I value an authentic and warm attitude, in order to offer you a safe, caring and welcoming space in which you can feel free to express yourself without constraints. I work primarily with humanistic-existential, intersubjective and psychodynamic approaches that place great importance on the present moment, self-awareness, emotions and the therapeutic relationship.
In addition, I draw on cognitive-behavioral approaches by integrating elements of acceptance and commitment therapy, self-compassion and mindfulness. Also, having obtained my teaching certification in yoga, I use this knowledge to enrich my therapeutic tools, notably by paying attention to bodily aspects such as breathing and “embodiment”. Finally, my own journey has led me to experience certain traditional therapeutic practices, particularly herbal medicines. To further this interest, I am currently training to join the Mindspace Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy team.
