Farrah Lamoreux | PMHNP-BC

Farrah specializes in the treatment of Adult Mental Health, providing diagnosis, medication management, referral to therapy and other ancillary services. Farrah describes her approach as “treating the whole person,” as chronic health concerns can have an influence on mental health. She believes in working with the patient to achieve the best possible outcomes. Farrah became a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner out of her lifelong experience with her own brother with Down Syndrome, as well as those with other special needs. Her mother is a nurse who worked in inpatient psychiatric units and primary care, so nursing was a natural choice. Farrah is also a dog lover, and has just started training her dog Mudd to be a therapy dog. Farrah has experience in treating persons with severe mental illness, ADHD, post release sex-offenders, court ordered treatment, as well as those with various intellectual disabilities and could be described as powerful advocate for her patients. Farrah’s familial background, combined with her experiences in growing up and attending school in Iowa has shaped her warm, honest approach to treating people. Her ideal patient is someone who is committed to actively working as a team member in their mental health journey. Additionally, Farrah strives to make sure that every patient feels heard in addition to making patients feel comfortable via relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere. Her 12 years of experience in community mental health has taught her many ways of getting patients affordable access to treatments they need, whether it is affordable medication, or genetic testing
