Jennifer Fowler | PsyD

The framework Dr. Jennifer Fowler operates under is psychodynamic, but she blends cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy strategies within treatment plans to ensure patient success. Her experience in treating acute trauma and grief have prepared her to find the beautiful resilience and hope that each patient has within themselves. Dr. Jennifer Fowler is a clinical psychologist who was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She graduated from Arizona State University with a desire to work as a victims advocate. After a move to San Diego, she found an ideal place to practice advocy at an organization serving homeless teens. It was in hearing stories of their trauma that shifted her focus from not only advocating for vulnerable communities but also providing the compassionate care needed among those experiencing trauma. Jennifer went on to receive a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of San Diego and then a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. Dr. Fowler devoted her energy to serving Veterans and older adults in the VA Healthcare System which led her to specialize in geriatric psychology and PTSD. She completed postdoc residency at the VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. Dr. Fowler landed a position at the AZ Burn Center, the 2nd largest Burn ICU in the country, and used a blend of compassionate curiosity, high energy, and trauma-informed care to support both patients and the multidisciplinary burn team. She’s excited about introducing patients to the power of psychedelic psychotherapy and she looks forward to becoming an integral part of Numinus.
